一、城市概况（City Profile）

蚌埠，古乃采珠之地，誉称“珠城”。位于安徽省北部，现辖三县四区、六个开发区，总面积5952平方公里，人口383.94万，其中市区建成区面积约140平方公里、市区户籍人口138.02万人。

Bengbu, a place of pearl collection in ancient times, is now known as a "Pearl City". Located in the northern part of Anhui Province, it has the jurisdiction over three counties, four districts and six development zones, covering a total area of 5,952 square kilometers and populated with 3,839,400 residents, in which the urban built-up area approximates 140 square kilometers and the urban registered population is 1,380,200.

二、魅力蚌埠（Charming Bengbu）

蚌埠是安徽省委、省政府明确支持建设的淮河流域和皖北地区中心城市，安徽省重要的加工制造业基地、合芜蚌国家自主创新示范区核心城市、中部地区老工业基地城市；是全国文明城市、全国科技进步先进市、全国双拥模范城市、中国外贸百强城市、中国电商百佳城市。

Bengbu, a central city in the Huaihe River Basin and northern Anhui supported by Anhui Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government for development, is an important processing and manufacturing base in Anhui Province, a core city in Hefei-Wuhu-Bengbu National Independent Innovation & Demonstration Zone and an old industrial base in the central region of China. It has been awarded with such honorary titles as a National Civilized City, a National Advanced City in Scientific and Technological Progress, a National Model City with Double Supports, a Top 100 Foreign Trade City in China and a China Top 100 E-commerce City.

三、大美蚌埠（Grand Bengbu）

蚌埠拥有国家4A级景区5个，3A级景区10个，安徽省最佳、优秀旅游乡镇14个。是国家园林城市、中国最美旅游目的地城市、国家生态文明先行示范区、中国百个宜居城市。

Bengbu has five national 4A scenic spots, ten 3A scenic spots and fourteen top and excellent tourist villages and towns in Anhui Province. It is a national garden city, one of China's most beautiful tourist destinations, and a national ecological civilization demonstration zone, rated among China Top 100 Livable Cities.

四、区位交通（Location & Transport）

蚌埠地处中国南北地理分界线秦岭—淮河一线，淮河中游，是淮河流域中心城市、皖北地区中心城市。蚌埠市是华东地区重要的交通枢纽。蚌埠高铁南站是京沪线七大中心枢纽站之一，也是京沪、京福高铁的交汇站，京台、宁洛高速公路在此交汇，蚌埠腾湖皖北国际机场将于近期开工。

Bengbu, lying on the Qinling-Huaihe River line, which is the geographic dividing line of north and south of China, and in the middle reaches of the Huaihe River, is the central city in the Huaihe River Basin and the northern Anhui region. Bengbu is an important transportation hub in East China: Bengbunan Railway Station is one of seven major hubs along the Beijing-Shanghai Line, as well as the junction of the Beijing-Shanghai and Beijing-Fuzhou high-speed railways; also, it is the junction spot of Beijing-Taipei and Nanjing-Luoyang expressways; Bengbu Wanbei International Airport is scheduled to construct in the near future.

五、对外开放（Opening up to the Outside World）

蚌埠与世界上160多个国家和地区有经贸往来和友好合作，结为国际友好城市8个，经贸伙伴城市9个。设有蚌埠（皖北）铁路无水港、蚌埠（皖北）保税物流中心、蚌埠港二类水运口岸等3个口岸平台，已开通蚌埠至上海、宁波铁海联运班列，“蚌西欧”（蚌埠-西安-欧洲）国际货运班列，蚌埠至太仓外贸集装箱班轮航线，“公、铁、水”全方位服务外贸企业，辐射皖北地区。 

Bengbu has established economic and trade exchanges and friendly cooperation with more than 160 countries and regions in the world, among which 8 are international twin towns and 9 are economic and trade partners. There are three port platforms in the city, namely, Bengbu (Northern Anhui) Railway Waterless Port, Bengbu (Northern Anhui) Bonded Logistics Center and Bengbu Port Class II Water Transportation Port, which have opened up rail-sea intermodal channels to Shanghai and Ningbo, "Bengbu-Xi'an-Europe" international freight trains, and Bengbu-Taicang foreign trade container liner routes. Thus, an all-round service integrating highways, railways and waterways is made available to foreign trade enterprises, which has radiation to the northern Anhui.

六、文化底蕴（Cultural Heritage）

蚌埠是淮河文化发祥地之一，距今7300年前双墩文化遗址出土的刻画符号，被确认为我国文字的重要起源之一；治水英雄大禹在此劈山导淮、召会诸侯，留下“三过家门而不入”的动人传说；奠定大汉基业的垓下之战，演绎了“四面楚歌”、“十面埋伏”、“霸王别姬”的千古绝唱；留传至今的汉民族最具代表性的民间舞蹈——花鼓灯，被周恩来总理誉为“东方芭蕾”，列为国家第一批非物质文化遗产。

Bengbu is one of the birthplaces of Huaihe River Culture. The carved symbols unearthed from Shuangdun Cultural Site, which can be dated back to 7,300 years ago, have been recognized as one of the important origins of Chinese characters. Dayu, a hero of flood control in ancient times, who split the hills here in Bangbu to divert the Huai River and later convened a meeting with tribal chefs, left behind a touching legend of "three passages at his house without visiting his family members". The Gaixia Battle, which solidified the foundation of the Han Dynasty, was waged in Bengbu, which gave birth to a handful of well-known stories and allusions, like Si Mian Chu Ge (besieged by all sides and horrified at the hearing of folk songs), Shi Mian Mai Fu (ambush from All Sides), and Ba Wang Bie Ji (the King’s Farewell to His Concubine); Bengbu is also home to Huagudeng (Flower-drum Lantern Dance), the most representative folk dance of the Han nationality handed down to this day, which was praised as an "oriental ballet" by Premier Zhou Enlai and was first enlisted into the Chinese intangible cultural heritage.

七、科教资源（ Science and Education Resources）

蚌埠是科技创新高地，是国家全面创新改革试验区、国家知识产权试点城市、国家科技进步市、国家科技兴贸出口创新基地、合芜蚌国家自主创新示范区。科技实力安徽省第二，拥有中央、省属科研院所7个、国家级工程（技术）研究中心3个、博士后流动工作站3个、省级科技创新服务中心2个，拥有高等教育院校12所、技工学校34所。

Bengbu is a new highland of scientific and technological innovations, a national comprehensive experimental zone for innovation and reform, a national intellectual property plot city, a national science and technology progress city, a national science and technology export and innovation base, and a Hefei-Wuhu-Bengbu National Independent Innovation & Demonstration Zone. Ranked the second in Anhui Province in terms of scientific and technological strength; it has 7 scientific research institutes administered by central and provincial governments, 3 state-level engineering (technology) research centers, 3 postdoctoral mobile workstations, 2 provincial scientific and technological innovation service centers, 12 higher education institutions and 34 technical schools.

八、重点产业（Key Industries）

蚌埠围绕硅基、生物基新材料两个千亿级产业，全力建设 “创新之城、材料之都”，ITO导电膜玻璃产量、光伏玻璃生产线单体规模、高纯电容氧化锆产量“三个世界第一”，世界最薄0.12毫米超薄浮法电子玻璃在蚌埠实现量产。拥有硅基新材料、军民融合、生物基材料3个国家新型工业化产业示范基地。

Bengbu, focusing on two one-hundred-billion industries of silicon-based and bio-based new materials, endeavors to build "a city of innovations and materials". ITO conductive film glass production, photovoltaic glass production line scale and high-purity capacitor zirconia production are all “ranked the first in the world". 0.12mm ultra-thin float electronic glass, the thinnest one in the world, is under mass production in Bengbu. In addition, it boasts three national demonstration bases for new industry: silicon-based new materials, integration of defense and civilian technologies, and bio-based materials.

九、营商环境（Business Environment）

蚌埠不断深化“放管服”改革，优化营商环境，努力做到“项目定了干，一切手续我来办；项目开了工，一切服务我跟踪；项目投了产，一切困难我来管”。荣获2019中国经济营商环境十大标杆城市。

Bengbu continues to deepen the reform of “delegation of power, streamline of administration, and improvement of service" to optimize the business environment, and strives to achieve its tenet: "all procedures will be handled when the project is finalized; all the services will be tracked when the project is commenced; and all difficulties will be resolved when the project is put into production". In 2019, Bengbu received Top 10 Benchmark Cities for Economic and Business Environment.
